Alphabet City

Manhattan

About

Often mistakenly grouped in with East Village, Alphabet City consists of Avenues A, B, C, and D, east of First Avenue. While it once had a notorious history of crime, today it’s known for endless mimosas at brunch, cozy coffee nooks, and lively nightlife. For a perfect morning, grab a quintessential New York bagel from Tompkin’s Square Bagels and enjoy it right across the street at the beautiful Tompkin’s Square Park (where they hold the pup-ular annual Halloween Dog Parade!). You can end your night with a drink at one of the many bars available in Alphabet City, or perhaps with a hilarious improv show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. With an abundance of shops, restaurants, and bars, plus it’s close proximity to East Village, Alphabet City has a lot to offer its residents and visitors.
