New York has Coney Island and Seattle has Georgetown. I doubt that any New Yorker or Seattleite would prefer their respective beachy neighborhoods over the white, sandy beaches of Hawaii but hey, they are better than nothing! Seasoned Seattleites can escape the hustle and bustle of downtown by taking a 15 minute water taxi. More than a beachtown though, Georgetown has a distinctive and artistic identity due to a rock-solid reputation as the home of bars for the free-spirited and hardworking. Most of the action takes place on the strip along Airport Way S where numerous eateries, bars, breweries, and shops vye for the attention.
