If you yearn for college days, then University District (or more commonly referred to as “U District”) might be the neighborhood for you. The main artery of U District is “the Ave” (University Way approximately between 40th and 50th St) which is jam-packed with college town staples including but not limited to cheap eateries, bars, coffee shops, thrift stores, and secondhand bookstores. Grab some affordable and down-to-earth diner grub from Orange King; get a little too tipsy with the UW crowd at the Big Time Microwbrew & Music; time-travel to the pre-Netflix era by browsing the videocassette at the Scarecrow Video. Escape from the young crowd once in awhile by hopping on the Burke-Gilman Trail which snakes through U District. Jog, skate, or bike to get away from it all.
