Staff Accountant

Real estate brokerage located in Brooklyn is looking for a Staff Accountant to assist our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will assist with processing invoices from vendors and contractors and manage day-to-day general ledger transactions. Your focus will be in accounting but you will be required to assist with other administrative duties throughout the office and various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Review leases for accuracy as a part of the commission approval process
  
• Review and record commissions to ensure appropriate documentation, approval, and coding
• Record and reconcile daily deposits
• Update accounts receivable, prepare invoices and assist with collections
• Prepare reconciliations for bank statements
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting documents
• Record month-end journal entries
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 1-3 years of accounting experience in real estate
• Strong fluency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of QuickBooks Online
• Must be organized, self motivated, and proactive with a strong attention to detail
